I had my first attack of Multiple Sclerosis when I was 14, but wasn’t diagnosed until I was 18. I didn’t have to start using a wheelchair until my last semester at UW – Milwaukee.

I was getting intense physical and occupational therapy at Froedtert Hospital when I first heard about wheelchair rugby, and was intrigued!

Playing has been a great way to meet new people, new friends. Because of my issues with fatigue, I am not what you would call ‘good’! That doesn’t matter, though, because for me it’s not about competitiveness — it’s about getting out and being active with people in a similar situation.

Rugby is fun and a hell of a workout! They don’t call it ‘Murderball’ for nothing!
