I became a C-6 C-7 quad due to a gunshot I received at the age of 19. I was a three sport athlete in high school and had aspirations of playing in college. After being shot it totally turned my world upside down! I was depressed for 3 years and even thought about suicide. I finally came to terms with my disability and started things anew. I had always missed playing sports but didn’t like the idea of playing them in a chair. I perceived it to be inferior to able body athletes, boy was I wrong. Rugby has brought back my competitive spirit and the drive to achieve greatness in all aspects of life. I have also met some very cool people who share a common bond with me of all races and gender. Rugby is my sanctuary away from the daily grind of everyday life. The MKE Iron are my extended family!
