I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at the age of 5, I have be involved in sports my whole life, but I only started playing adaptive sports in 2000. I have been on 2 National Championship teams, one in wheelchair basketball and the other in wheelchair softball. I have played sled hockey, and picked up quad rugby after seeing the movie “Murderball”. I have been playing quad rugby for 6 years, and feel that it is the sport for me. I am attracted to quad rugby for the hitting, and the demands that it takes to be able to perform day in and day out. After trying several adaptive sports, I feel that quad rugby is the best fit of adaptive sport for the type of disability I have.
